Around the Shapes
An acrylic workshop with Lyse Deselliers
February 16-17, 2019

Join award-winning artist Lyse Deselliers for this two-day course in which you will discover the joys of creating a 12 x 12 painting on a cradled wood panel using negative painting techniques in the style of Tom Thomson.

Participants will bring their own acrylic paints and brushes; the gallery will provide the cradled wood panels.

Saturday, February 16 5 p.m. to 9 p.m .
Sunday, February 17 Noon to 4 p.m.

Cost $160.00 + GST

Lyse Deselliers is a award-winning FCA member who has been painting for 16 years. Her bright, colourful style has been favourably compared to the Group of Seven. She likes to have fun with the participants as she believes “a relaxed painter is a better painter.”

Pouring Paint: Flowers in watercolor

A pouring workshop with Victoria Rodgers

March 16-17, 2019


Under the skilled leadership of Victoria Rodgers, workshop participants will pour two watercolor paintings to create abstract backgrounds using masking, negative painting, acrylic inks and techniques. Participants will also learn wet-into-wet shading for petals/leaves.


Participants will supply watercolor paints in transparent colors including aureolin, quinacridone gold, permanent rose, cobalt blue and Antwerp blue. Participants should also bring other colors they have plus brushes and an HB pencil. The gallery will provide paper, masking and other materials.

Workshops at the Front Street Gallery

The Front Street Gallery’s workshops are led by some of the Okanagan’s finest artists. Class sizes are kept small to ensure each participant receives hands-on attention and emerges with an expanded appreciation and skill they can apply to their art.

All workshops are held in the gallery at 60 Front Street in Penticton.
